Protecting manually prepared PE file
Denis 7 Feb 2007 9:06:44

Can I do some advanced protection on PE file if I have no sources?
For example I want to protect some procedure:

push ebp
mov ebp,esp
sub esp,...
<body of procedure>
pop ebp
ret ...

So can I add your protect signture to this code like this (with hex editor)?
<magic_values_start_prot_from_inc_file>
push ebp
mov ebp,esp
sub esp,...
<body of procedure>
pop ebp
ret ...
<magic_values_end_prot_from_inc_file>

Can I call this protected proc from other procs? Can I do the protection such the way?

P.S.: I understand that I should shift the whole procedure by the number of bytes in <magic_values_start_prot_from_inc_file> to call it from other procs. I understand that I should correct all the relative links from this procedure to prevent wrong calls or memory usage after this shifting.

Hello

yes, you can manually insert encryption marks. code between this marks will be morphed and protected.

Thanks
